Une table de café, deux amoureux. Leur rêve romantique d’une vie ensemble face à la quête sans fin d’un logement à Paris…Un drame autour du langage, à la fois interprété et dessiné, basé sur des données immobilières cruelles, volées au temps réel pour décrire un récit archétypal.
Description
Cette œuvre est liée à des données volées en temps réel au site web d’annonces immobilières www.pap.fr. Les plans que vous voyez projetés sur une table de café parisien, et les descriptions que vous écoutez sont la visualisation (et la sonification) des cinq dernières annonces publiées dans cette catégorie d’espace minimum vital du logement parisien, le studio/studette de 10 à 15 mètres carrés – une pièce.
Les textes des annonces sont analysés par un logiciel PHP écrit spécifiquement pour comprendre le contenu de l’annonce. Le logiciel peut comprendre un certain nombre de caractéristiques du studio : la taille, le type d’immeuble, le type de cuisine, les meubles, si une caution est demandée, etc. Aussi, le logiciel fait des « inférences » pour comprendre ce qui n’est pas mentionné dans l’annonce, et il effectue une évaluation générale de la « qualité de l’offre » par rapport aux exigences de deux amoureux.
Une fois interprétées, les « vraies » caractéristiques du studio sont traduites pour une application Flash qui les anime à travers des images dessinées à la main. Le plan est ensuite mélangé aux données vidéo inscrites dans la boucle de l’expo/labo.
Les fichiers audio que vous écoutez sont préenregistrés mais leur séquence change continuellement. Une actualisation du dialogue est effectuée après l’affichage de 12 studios consécutifs. Par ailleurs, qu’il y est actualisation ou non des données immobilières, le dialogue va varier dans les détails ainsi que dans sa visualisation. Autrement dit, ce que vous regardez et écoutez dépend directement de la qualité moyenne des offres immobilières à Paris…
